Eric Lepoureau

Eric Lepoureau is a French artist born in 1951 in Puteaux, near Paris.

He graduated from the Superior Graphic Arts School of Penningen (ESAG), Paris in 1975. He was for a short time a press illustrator before he decided to turn to painting full time.

The pictorial approach of Eric Lepoureau is primarily concentrated on forms. It translates however into paintings filled with an atmosphere of mystery and secrecy evoking theater or movie scenes, where one can guess the presence of characters hidden in shadows or emerging in full light. The artist explores appearances. His paintings invite the viewer to project his dreams into the scene and create his own scenario. The works of this master of light are, in this sense, absolutely interactive and contemporary.

Eric Lepoureau is represented by Jany Jansem since 1982. He has made an exhibition every three to four years since the beginning of the eighties. His works are in private collection in Europe, USA and the Middle East.
